Northern Inclusion Consortium

Our current projects

We are currently delivering two projects across the North East. These projects are joint-funded by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund as part of the Building Better Opportunities initiative, and they have a total value of £13.2 million.

Step Forward Tees Valley

The NIC is delivering this three-year project supporting over 2,500 people in the Tees Valley area to overcome the complex reasons preventing them from finding work. These barriers could include physical or mental ill-health, a lack of self-confidence, a gap in skills, a conviction, or an addiction. Visit the website to read more.

Moving On Tyne & Wear

The NIC is programme-managing the delivery of this three-year project supporting over 1,600 people in Tyne and Wear who are aged 25+ and out of work due to complex health issues and other barriers, such as long-term unemployment, debt, low skills, or housing issues. Visit the website to read more.
