Barriers to employment for people with drug and alcohol issues and people in recovery

Moving On Tyne & Wear‘s partners, Changing Lives, worked with programme participants to produce this piece of research which has been produced to inform better delivery of recovery services.

The programme recruited three participants with substance misuse backgrounds. They were interested in learning about peer research methods and spent time gaining qualifications and experience which would help them carry out research.

The programme then recruited these participants as employees to support them in producing the final report.

This is a user-led piece of work which showcases the power of peer-research.
